GUIDELINES

 Purpose:

To provide a “helping hand” to children by supporting their education pursuit through funding, scholarships and grants. 

Eligibility:

Applicant must be willing to study in an elementary (primary), secondary (high school) or tertiary (higher institution). Applicants must proof that they cannot afford to pay for their education (tuition, accommodation, etc).

Criteria:

  • Essay/Statement of Career Goals – A written statement of purpose of between 200 and 500 words in length to include but not limited to the following:
    • Brief description of the applicant
    • Brief description of the applicant’s family background
    • Career goals
    • Applicant must submit their post secondary school academic results; evidence of offer of admission to a post secondary institution in the chosen field of interest.
    • Awards/academic or other note-worthy honors or achievements (public/community or volunteer service, etc.)
    • Extra-curricular, sports, club memberships, and any leadership roles played

 For Tertiary Education Applicants 

  • Applicant must submit their post secondary school academic results; evidence of offer of admission to a post secondary institution in the chosen field of interest.
  • An applicant must provide two letters of recommendation from nonrelatives, preferably from high school principals, teachers, or civic community leaders.
  • Essay/Statement of Career Goals – A Statement of Purpose of between 500 and 1000 words in length to include but not limited to the following:
    • Brief description of the applicant and family background
    • Career goals
    • Awards/academic or other note-worthy honors or achievements (public/community or volunteer service, etc.)
    • High school activities – extra-curricular, sports, club memberships, and any leadership roles played

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants must submit the above items with a formal letter of application addressed to the RHODAF Education Foundation Committee.

A final decision on the successful applicant(s) will be announced by the RHODAF Committee via email. 

Applications are received all year round.
